The RICH Centre of the School of Built & Natural Environment can undertake the studies as described below. For further information on any of the expertise please contact us on 0141 331 8447 or complete our online form.
- Condensation risk assessments
To help owners, occupiers, and designers identify inherent condensation risks within buildings and identify viable and effective solutions
- Thermal Bridge Modelling
To help designers and clients achieve compliance with Building Regulation requirements for thermal performance
- Environmental Modelling
To evaluate internal comfort conditions and evaluate the benefits of building refurbishment
- Climate Change
To evaluate the impacts of climate change on buildings and the construction industry
Projects relating to the tourism industry have included:
- Evaluating new types of tourist accommodation before going into production. More specifically:
- Assessing risk of condensation with the effect of specific possible ‘defects’
- Assessment of various energy sources and insulations to be integrated into new self-catering accommodation; with the objective to reduce energy bills and to become as sustainable as possible
The results of this type work have allowed companies to move forward with the production of their prototypes and move into general manufacturing.
